Kilometre compensation

Displacement surcharge by municipality

A displacement surcharge is added to the fare to compensate for the empty kilometres driven to reach you, but only in the following cases:

  • If the departure location is not in the municipality of Neuchâtel,
  • If the destination is not in the municipality of Neuchâtel,
  • And if the journey does not pass through the municipality of Neuchâtel.

If all three conditions above are met, the displacement surcharge is applied based on the location closest to Neuchâtel.

About our fares

The standard rate is CHF 4.00/km in the city (T1 — Mon–Fri, 6am–8pm) and CHF 4.50/km outside the city, at night, on Saturdays and on public holidays (T2). The boarding fee is CHF 6.50, the minimum fare is CHF 10.–.
Yes, our Onde Verte tariff offers a reduced boarding fee of CHF 5.00 (instead of CHF 6.50) and CHF 3.60/km for AHV beneficiaries, retirees, students and Onde Verte subscribers (TransN pass). On presentation of a valid card — please mention when booking.
The Neuchâtel – Geneva Airport (GVA) journey is offered as a flat rate from CHF 435.–, all inclusive (boarding, tolls, waiting up to 60 min, flight tracking). The fare is agreed before departure, with no surprises.
Yes, taxi fares are regulated by the canton of Neuchâtel. AàZ Taxicab applies the official tariff schedule and several of our rates are below the cantonal ceilings — for example our waiting time at CHF 60.– (official ceiling: CHF 80.–). Every vehicle is equipped with an approved taximeter.
For journeys that take the taxi outside the city of Neuchâtel, a displacement surcharge is added to the fare. This surcharge compensates for the empty kilometres driven on the driver's return trip.
