NIFF 2026: nine days of genre cinema
The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival runs from Friday 3 to Saturday 11 July 2026. It is one of the most important genre film festivals in Europe, attracting filmmakers, actors and dedicated audiences from across the continent. Screenings take place at multiple venues in the city, with the main programme at the Théâtre du Passage and associated halls.
The programme includes world premieres, retrospectives, short film competitions and special late-night events. Some of the most sought-after screenings start at 22:00 or even later, finishing well past midnight.
The transport challenge
The NIFF venues are mostly concentrated in the city centre, which is good — parking in the centre of Neuchâtel at any time of day is limited and expensive. In the evening during the festival, it is even more challenging, with normal evening city traffic plus festival-goers and restaurant diners all competing for the same spaces.
For visitors coming from the suburbs or neighbouring towns, driving in and out each evening across nine days is a significant inconvenience. A taxi solves this entirely.
Using a taxi for the NIFF
With AàZ Taxicab, your evening's logistics become simple. You decide which screening you want to see, your driver drops you at the venue entrance, and when the film ends — whether at 23:30 or 01:00 — you call us and we pick you up nearby. No cold walk to a car park, no driving home tired after a midnight horror film.
Multi-screening days
If you plan to see several films in one day, a taxi is particularly convenient. You can start with an afternoon screening, have dinner in the city centre, then take a taxi to the evening programme without moving a car between sessions. For festival pass holders attending 4–5 screenings over the weekend, this is the most stress-free approach.
For visitors staying outside Neuchâtel
Many NIFF attendees come from Bern, Fribourg, La Chaux-de-Fonds or the Bernese Jura. If you are visiting Neuchâtel specifically for the festival and are not staying overnight in the city, a taxi from a larger car park on the outskirts or from a friend's address is a practical option.
Booking for late-night pick-ups
For screenings ending after midnight, we recommend calling ahead to book rather than relying on an immediate response. AàZ Taxicab is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but advance booking during busy festival periods ensures you have a confirmed driver at the end of the film.
